  • Overview

Charlotte joined Chambers in October 2022 after successful completion of her specialist Child Law pupillage.

Prior to joining Chambers, Charlotte worked as a court clerk to Circuit and High Court judges sitting at Bristol Family Court. This provided Charlotte with a wealth of experience of the intellectual and emotional challenges of child law work and an understanding of the different needs and approaches required for different clients.

Charlotte spent her First Six under the supervision of Libby Harris. With Libby, Charlotte worked on  a range of complex cases, including multi-week fact-finding hearings relating to injured babies.

During her Second Six, Charlotte developed a wide practice in both public and private child work.

In public law, Charlotte regularly acts for local authorities, parents and  guardians in a range of matters, including contested final hearings. Charlotte is known for dealing well with difficult cases under pressure and defending her client’s position in the face of strong opposition.

In private law, Charlotte appears for parents at all stages of proceedings in disputes over contact, residence, specific issue and prohibited steps orders and enforcement. Charlotte is also instructed in non-molestation order and occupation order disputes.

Charlotte is known for her personable and pragmatic approach, even in the most challenging cases.
