Redundancy Workshops
‘Prevention is better than cure’
Practical solutions and case studies addressing the common and not-so-common aspects of redundancy processes
The Albion Employment Team has received a number of enquiries from professional bodies, public sector organisations, HR departments and law firms, asking for training in managing redundancy; they want practical training for their lay business clients, professional partners or their legal/HR departments.
We have put together a variety of redundancy workshops, to be delivered by our employment law specialists. It is apparent that redundancies have not been a mainstay of employment litigation during recent years, due for the most part to the buoyant economy. This means that in some organisations there may be a lack of familiarity with good redundancy practice. Bearing in mind that prevention is better (and less expensive) than cure, the workshops can be tailored to your organisation’s specific individual needs. We offer half and full-day sessions.
The emphasis of the workshops is on practical solutions and case studies to work through the common and not-so-common aspects of redundancy processes, including:
- how and when to start consultation
- designing skills matrices
- dealing with maternity and paternity rights
- evaluating suitable alternative employment
- what to do about ‘bumping’
- section 188 duties and obligations.
The training has been developed for delivery to small legal and HR teams, wider HR and management groups, or, as a service to their lay clients, the delivery of workshops to firms’ business clients, en masse.
