Rupert joined Chambers in February 2018. He is instructed as led junior and junior alone in a wide range of work, including fraud, violence, drugs and sexual offences. He also appears regularly in extradition matters, including appeals to the High Court.

In the last three years, Rupert has been led in two linked film-scheme frauds at Southwark Crown Court that ran for over six months, as well as in a complex, multi-handed drugs conspiracy where the client was first on the indictment. As junior alone, he successfully defended a client accused of property fraud in a six-week case at Harrow Crown Court, and was instructed to resist one of the first applications for a Slavery and Trafficking Risk Order under the Modern Slavery Act 2015.

Rupert completed a secondment at the white-collar crime department of leading law firm Arnold and Porter Kaye Scholer, where he was advising potential witnesses on the criminal implications of participation in the latest News Group litigation. He also provided advice to clients involved in one of the SFO’s biggest ever bribery investigations into corrupt payments made by oil contractors to the Iraqi government.
