Practice

Crime
Jason Taylor is a highly experienced advocate undertaking all types of criminal work; prosecuting and defending. He is CPS Grade 3 prosecutor.

He is widely instructed in the most serious criminal cases ranging from complex and high-value fraud to murder. He is regularly briefed in multi-handed drug conspiracies and all case involving levels of sexual offences, including historic child rape. He has considerable experience of Very High Cost Cases.

He is frequently instructed to appear in Jury Inquests, Police Disciplinary Tribunals and Courts Martial.

Jason also provides training to C.I.D officers and the Department of Work and Pensions on court skills, duties of disclosure and advocacy and, in addition, lectures on a variety of CPD accredited courses on criminal law.

Employment
Jason undertakes a variety of work for applicants and respondents in the Employment tribunal including unfair dismissal and redundancy, discrimination on the grounds of sex, race and disability, and claims for breach of contract and wrongful dismissal.

R v Howley and others – Led junior in a 16-week trial of a £12.5million conspiracy to defraud various banks and the Welsh Development Agency

R v Dawson – £1million arson with intent to endanger life. Security guard at Top Shop alleged to have set fire to the store during opening hours.

R v Gayle – Led junior in an eight-week multi-handed conspiracy to supply class A drugs

R v Walker – Six-week multi-handed conspiracy to import class A drugs from Jamaica via international couriers involving the F.B.I, D.E.A, H.M Customs and various Police constabularies

R v Jones – Multi-handed conspiracy to supply Class C drugs — cannabis farms yielding enough cannabis to supply a single user for 112 years

Conspiracy to commit armed robbery – London drugs gangs travelling to Bristol to steal drugs from rival gangs, involving P.I.I and compellability of witnesses.
