Chief Coroner addresses Albion Inquest Team Seminar
On 1st March 2013 the first Chief Coroner, HHJ Peter Thornton QC, gave the keynote speech at the annual Albion Inquest Team Seminar. The seminar coincided with the launch of the consultation about proposed new Coroners’ Rules under the Coroners and Justice Act 2009, and the Chief Coroner addressed delegates about the proposed reforms. Speakers from the inquest team, Kate Brunner, Anna Midgley, and Richard Shepherd, followed with seminars dealing with recent case law, which has had a significant effect on inquest procedure, disclosure, and appeals.
