Gemma Borkowski practices in family, civil and employment law.

Family

Ancillary Relief
Gemma has an expanding ancillary relief practice. A number of her recent cases have involved property outside the jurisdiction and trusts in favour of third parties. She has special interests in cases involving business assets and the division of armed forces pension schemes.

Children
She frequently appears in fact finding hearings involving allegations of domestic violence, sexual abuse and non-accidental injuries to children. In her care practice Gemma has developed experience of proceedings at all stages involving the assessment of families for whom domestic violence is a problem alongside those involving parents with mental health issues, learning difficulties and dependency issues.

TOLATA
Gemma advises in cases involving trusts of land and the breakdown of relationships between cohabitees.

Employment

Her growing employment practice includes frequent appearances in cases involving:

  • All forms of discrimination
  • Unfair and wrongful dismissal
  • Breach of contract
  • Redundancy

Civil

Gemma frequently undertakes civil trials involving contractual disputes and personal injuries. She advises at all stages of proceedings.
