Albion Chambers is proud to offer one of the largest teams of specialist family counsel in the South West. Our twenty-two strong team, including two Door Tenant Queens Counsel, offers a wealth of experience and expertise in all areas of law relating to family disputes, providing us with the ability to offer you and your clients real choice. We appear and advise in matters concerning divorce, matrimonial finance, children law, the Inheritance Act and cohabitee disputes.
In the tradition of Albion Chambers, our family team has earned a reputation for high levels of legal services and its members’ accessible, approachable and empathetic manner.
In addition to private-client work we have an extensive client base including local authorities, CAFCASS and guardians.
We have two family clerks; Michael Harding, who has over twenty years’ experience and Julie Hathway, who joined us after a long career in the Court Service, most recently as a High Court family listing officer. Michael and Julie are always happy to discuss and recommend the most suitable member of the team for each individual case.
Continuity of representation is important for all of us and we make every effort to avoid changes of counsel. When changes are necessary, our clerks are able to draw on a substantial pool of expertise, so that we continue to provide consistent levels of representation.
We are committed to offering a comprehensive service to all our clients and continue to deal with publicly funded matters at all levels.
Continuing education, internal and external, is important to us. Albion Chambers is accredited by the Solicitors Regulation Authority to provide external training; we run regular programmes of seminars together with frequent in-house training sessions. Many members of the team also sit as Deputy District Judges and on various Tribunals.
