Charlotte Pitts is a family practitioner, specialising in children law. She practises in both public and private law work, with a particular interest in the public law domain. She acts for local authorities, parents, guardians, children and other extended family members. She has been involved in cases concerning the most serious allegations of physical, sexual and emotional abuse and of neglect and has represented vulnerable clients presenting with a variety of personality disorders and learning difficulties.
Charlotte has been involved in proceedings involving the Official Solicitor and has acted for older children requiring separate representation.

Re: S – Representing a father opposing the use of his DNA obtained to establish paternity of one child in establishing the paternity in respect of a child involved in separate proceedings.
Re: W – Care proceedings involving two sets of grandparents following the incarceration of father and suicide of mother. Guardian sought to judicially review the decision-making process of the Local Authority.
Re: W – Representing the Local Authority in a Secure Accommodation application. Significant concerns regarding child’s self-harming and attempted suicide.
Re: T – Representation of Local Authority in a Secure Accommodation application involving serious sexual abuse allegations against the father. An application was made to withhold disclosure of case papers from Father and to prohibit him from attending Court hearings.
Re: R – Care proceedings following the death of a child in the parents’ care.
