Practice:
Ben Jenkins practises exclusively in family law and his work encompasses all areas including ancillary relief, public and private children work, cohabitation disputes and domestic violence / harassment applications.

Ancillary Relief
Ben has a particular interest in this area and his broad practice includes small and larger asset cases. He has experience of cases involving private companies, farms, armed forces pensions and family trusts.

In addition to matrimonial finance Ben is frequently instructed to advise on financial matters arising from co-habitee disputes.

Children
Ben frequently appears in public law children proceedings and has represented local authorities, parents and guardians. He has experience in complex finding of fact hearings involving serious allegations of abuse. He has appeared in the High Court and Court of Appeal representing parents in cases requiring numerous disciplines of expert evidence, significant cultural issues and multiple non-accidental injuries.

Ben also has experience of representing very vulnerable parties through the Official Solicitor.

Reported Cases

Re P and P (Children) [2009] EWCA Civ 610 and [2009] 2 FLR 1370: Counsel for the Second Respondent in this appeal from a decision of Coleridge J concerning the instruction of experts in a complex public law children matter.

Re G and D (Children) [2010] EWHC 304 (fam): Junior Counsel for the Second Respondent in a complex public law fact finding with very unusual injuries to children, with significant cultural issues.
